University Village Community Development District

The Miromar Lakes South Community Development District changed its name to University Village Community Development District effective April 3, 2019 by Lee County Ordinance 19-04. The Miromar Lakes South Community Development District, a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, was established on October 26, 2010 by Lee County Ordinance No. 10-42, as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.

The University Village Community Development District encompasses and area of approximately 282-8 acres in unincorporated Lee County, Florida.

The University Village CDD encompassed an area of approximately 147.97 acres unincorporated Lee County, Florida. The land within the District is generally bounded by Interstate 95 on the Southeast, Snake Creek Canal on the Southwest, and Ives Dairy Road and existing development on the North.

The University Village CDD was established to plan, construct, acquire, operate and maintain systems and facilities related to landscaping and public areas, off-site road improvements, sanitary sewer collection system, water transmission and distribution system, storm water management and drainage system.

The University Village Community Development District formerly, Miromar Lakes South Community Development District, is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on October 26, 2010 by Lee County Ordinance No. 10-42 (name change and boundary modification effective April 3, 2019) granting those special powers to the CDD as set forth in Section 190.012(1), Florida Statutes and Sections 190.012(2)(a)(d)and (f), (except for powers regarding waste disposal), Florida Statutes and Section 190.012(3), Florida Statutes.
